The COTI team recently attended Devcon 7, the premier annual Ethereum conference for developers, thinkers, and innovators, organized by the Ethereum Foundation. This year’s event held in Bangkok, was the biggest Devcon yet, with over 12,500 delegates!
COTI’s CEO, Shahaf Bar-Geffen, attended, along with Chief Ecosystem and Partnerships Officer Joshua Maddox and Head of R&D Guy Mesika. Their packed schedules included key events at Devcon, as well as many of the popular side events. Here’s a wrap-up of activity and key takeaways from the week.
COTI Out and About
Even before the conference officially began, we had the opportunity to meet with key players from our ecosystem, exploring ways to deepen collaboration. Then, as the event progressed, more strategic dialogue followed as we met with a mix of partners and promising new connections.
Our team’s itinerary covered a diverse range of events, many of which featured privacy tracks. We were excited to see privacy emerging as a significant trend across the evolving Web3 sector.
Some of the key events on the team’s schedule included:
- Web3 Privacy Network (W3PN)
- Enterprise Ethereum Alliance
- Abstract Summit
- DeFi World
- Dune Con
- Cypherpunk Congress
- Ethscale
- Rollup Day
- Multi-chain Day
- Alt-layer Rollup Day
- Encryption Day
- EthGlobal
COTI’s CEPO Joshua Maddox observed, “As well as the prevalence of privacy tracks at many events, there was a marked demand for interoperability. Cross-chain capabilities are essential to move beyond the current cohort of early adopters…to widen the net. The user experience has to improve, beyond the current fragmentation, and that only happens with cross chain capabilities’’
COTI announced its cross chain privacy provision during Devcon which provided an opportunity to discuss how Privacy-on-Demand could shape the broader Web3 landscape. The news was picked up by the crypto press and fuelled interesting discussions for the team at Devcon.
COTI in the Spotlight: Hosting the Shielding Summit
COTI made a strong impression at Devcon by hosting the DeCC x Shielding Summit, in partnership with Privacy Guardians and the DeCC Alliance.
This one-day, privacy-focused event brought together leaders in Web3 privacy, including Secret Network, iExec, Partisia, SCRT Labs, Filecoin, Aleph Zero, among others.
Highlights included COTI’s CEO, Shahaf Bar-Geffen speaking on the panel Privacy Tech: The Undervalued Layer for Adoption and CEPO Joshua Maddox, sharing insights on Building Web3 with Privacy by Default.
The summit provided a space to exchange ideas with one another and identify opportunities to advance privacy innovation.
Next, the team participated in Hack Seasons , a premier networking event for founders, developers, and investors. COTI’s CEO, Shahaf Bar-Geffen, contributed to the panel Driving Mass Adoption with Enhanced Privacy. The event was well attended and fostered valuable connections, featuring high-profile names like Bankless, Near, Kucoin, and Wintermute.
Lasting Conversations
As Devcon came to a close, the networking continued for the COTI team. Over the weekend we took part in post-conference events, exploring new collaborations and strengthen existing ones.
With the momentum from Devcon still building, COTI remains committed to driving the adoption of privacy features across the blockchain ecosystem. Conversations sparked during the conference will continue to evolve over the coming weeks and undoubtedly shape the future trajectory of COTI.
Stay tuned for more updates as COTI continues to break new ground in the blockchain space!
