Djed’s New Use Case Spotlight: FluidTokens

Stablecoins haven’t had the best reputation recently with coins like USDC and USDT losing their peg. Despite this, DJED has managed to maintain its peg throughout the storm.

As a result, we’ve seen great demand for DJED since its launch. Our next main focus is to establish DJED’s adoption, and one of the best ways to do this is by creating additional utility. In the coming weeks we will present to you different use cases for both DJED and SHEN.

This week we’re taking a look at the implementation of DJED on FluidTokens.

FluidTokens is a DeFi lending platform where borrowers can use their NFTs as collateral to facilitate loans of various cryptocurrency assets.

We asked Matteo Coppola, FluidTokens CEO, several questions about the implementation, and this is what he had to say:

Please tell us a bit about FluidTokens:
FluidTokens is a cross-chain DeFi ecosystem, born in Cardano, that aims to optimize users and businesses return of investments leveraging innovative web3 services. At the moment, our P2P lending platform is the main service, but many are going to be delivered in the upcoming weeks.
What does the implementation of DJED and SHEN allow?
In our P2P lending platform, DJED allows users to get and repay loans in stablecoins, removing the uncertainty of crypto fluctuations.
How does it work?
When users create a loan request, they can choose the currency for the loan and the currency for the interests. Without a stablecoin, users would have had to take into account the ADA value variation during the loan period. With DJED, they don’t.
What impact do you expect DJED and SHEN will have on the platform?
Having stablecoins is a mandatory step for a truly cross-chain DeFi ecosystem such as FluidTokens. Most players are not interested in crypto fluctuations, but more on a steady return of investment (ROI)
