COTI Roundup — May Highlights
May was a strong month for COTI. The network and ecosystem are maturing, transaction volumes are ticking higher, and we’re excited to see that COTI is starting to attract attention at the very highest levels of government and industry!
TL:DR:
- COTI selected for the ECB’s Digital Euro project as ‘Pioneer Partner’
- COTI’s CEPO invited the NYC Mayor’s first Digital Asset Roundtable and receives an invite to the royal palace in Dubai, as a follow up to the RWA Summit Roundtable last month
- COTI and Garbled Circuits feature in Messari’s new DeCC Report
- Treasury V2 upgrade is successfully deployed
- wETH and wBTC are made available on COTI via Hyperlane’s Nexus bridge
- Enkrypt and thirdweb join the COTI ecosystem
Let’s dive in!
RWAs: COTI’s International Profile Grows
RWAs are the fastest-growing area of the blockchain ecosystem, and are tipped to become a $30 trillion market by 2034, eclipsing the entire crypto market in less than a decade. May saw COTI involved in the conversations at the highest levels of government around RWAs and tokenization. Privacy is a major unlock for governments, institutions and large-scale enterprise and we’re putting COTI’s compliant, on-chain privacy solutions firmly in the frame.
Let’s take a closer look at how COTI is raising it’s profile in the RWA space.
COTI Joins Digital Euro as ‘Pioneer’
We were thrilled to announce that COTI has been selected as a Pioneer Partner for the ECB’s Digital Euro project, alongside top companies like KPMG, Accenture, Tata Companies and others. Our team will gain access to the Digital Euro’s technical infrastructure to showcase how secure, conditional cross-border payments can work, while protecting sensitive user information. Stay tuned to COTI channels for updates.
An Invite to the Royal Palace, Dubai
Following the successful RWA Roundtable event in Dubai last month, COTI CEPO Joshua Maddox was invited back to the city in UAE to meet His Highness Sheikh Awad Mohamed Bin Sheikh Mujren. He took on, and completed, the Ramdha Challenge: a barefoot walking race across 200 meters of scorching sand!
Whilst there, Joshua had an audience with His Highness to discuss the future of asset tokenization in the US, Abu Dhabi, MENA, and ASEAN. We look forward to continuing the discussion the next roundtable.
COTI At The NYC Mayor’s Inaugural Digital Asset Summit
Also in May, Joshua was one of just 60 invitees to the inaugural New York City Digital Asset Summit Roundtable. The event, hosted by Mayor Eric Adams, gathered together “the brightest and best” in the blockchain industry to discuss the opportunities and challenges for blockchain and crypto.
NYC is charting a path forward to become a major hub for Web3 technologies and privacy featured in Mayor Adams opening speech as a part of his plans for civic records. Watch this space for further developments!
Messari’s DeCC Report Explores Garbled Circuits
In early May, COTI featured in Messari’s DeCC Ecosystem Report, which surveys the latest developments in decentralized confidential computing. COTI’s scalable and composable L2 uses a ground-breaking implementation of Garbled Circuits (GC) by Soda Labs. The technology provides on-chain privacy — unlocking important use cases like private payments, confidential DeFi, RWAs, and CBDCs. Unlike other approaches to DeCC, it’s fast, efficient, decentralized, and is built on battle-tested cryptographic standards! You can read the report here.
Treasury V2 Upgrade
The COTI Treasury V2 Upgrade successfully completed this month. V1 deposits have now been upgraded and should be accessible via treasury.coti.io. The Treasury upgrade adds support for $COTI V2 token deposits, while maintaining ERC20 compatibility. Find out more here.
*If you haven’t linked a MetaMask address in VIPER Wallet yet, please do so as soon as possible. Check out this tutorial on YouTube.

Also this month we were excited to see the addition of wBTC and wETH to the COTI Mainnet. These are available via Hyperlane’s Nexus bridge and provide new collateral options for traders and DeFi users. In case you missed it, Bancor also published its Carbon DeFi tutorial, showing users how to get started trading on its permissionless platform, here.
The COTI Ecosystem Grows With New Partnerships
We were please to welcome new partners this month:
- Enkrypt, the multi-chain wallet built by MEW, has added support for COTI network. Enkrypt, has attracted an additional 200,000 users since its launch in 2022 — all of whom now have native access to COTI.
- thirdweb, the popular no-code and AI platform for builders, is live on COTI. thirdweb boasts an audience of over 70,000 developers. The platform enables users to deploy dApps quickly, with wallet support, SDKs/APIs, smart contract deployment, and more. The COTI integration enables builders to deliver compliant privacy as the default for their users. Check out our blog for more information, and to take advantage of special offers for the COTI community from Thirdweb.
In addition, our existing ecosystem partner Syncra, the no-code DAO platform, published a deep dive into their coming COTI integration, which will offer private, decentralized governance for DAOs. And finally, the COTI Heroes NFT collection dropped, with support from no-code project Crafter.
Vibe Code With Stay COTI
The Stay COTI movement is gaining momentum and May saw three further vibe coding events take place:

- Create your first private token on COTI
- Get started with the COTI Python SDK
Check out the Stay COTI website for upcoming events and to get involved in the new low-code builders movement. Next up: our Meme Creation Contest on June 5!
COTI In The Spotlight
In the media this month, News of COTI’s involvement with the ECB was picked up by Bitcoinist and Crypto News, Binance News, CryptoPotato, and more.
