COTI Roundup — March Highlights

COTI
5 min readApr 4, 2025

March 2025 was COTI’s biggest month yet and for good reason. The successful launch of COTI Mainnet saw partners going live on day one, making a powerful start to a new era. March also saw the announcement of COTI’s new Node Ecosystem that attracted widespread attention for its game-changing rewards structure. And in a bold move that signals COTI’s growing influence, we announced our involvement in the Africa Tokenization Council — that forges partnerships with top-tier government and industry leaders across the continent.

Let’s take a look back at all the news, updates, and technical developments from a truly transformative month.

COTI Mainnet Launch

COTI’s Mainnet officially launched, as planned, on Wednesday, March 26, kicking off a new era of scalable, cross-chain privacy, and it’s already delivering. From day one, a number of partnering dApps and projects have gone live on Mainnet — notably Bancor’s advanced DEX Carbon DeFi, and no-code platform Crafter, kickstarting network growth.

We are excited to continue welcoming new projects to COTI and invite you to celebrate with us as as each ecosystem partner goes live on COTI Mainnet.

To mark the launch of Mainnet we airdropped $COTI to over 15,000 wallets and hosted a special livestream that showcased some of our partners, highlighting the range of use cases for privacy in Web3. If you missed it, you can catch up here. Our Founder and CEO, Shahaf Bar-Geffen, also delivered a much anticipated launch address that you can watch back here:

Security First : Hacken Audit

COTI’s Mainnet launch was given the green light ahead of time by our partner and leading blockchain auditing firm, Hacken, who found no major issues with the network. This stamp of approval reinforces our commitment to secure, enterprise-grade infrastructure. The full audit results will be published soon.

Node Ecosystem Announcement And Testnet Nodes

In March, we released details of COTI’s forthcoming Node Ecosystem, a new approach that opens Mainnet participation to everyone — regardless of technical background.

We’ll be offering Full and Lite node licenses, making it easy to participate in securing COTI’s Mainnet while accruing rewards from ecosystem activity. For seasoned operators, the system will include the option to run custom Treasury pools, with plans for multi-token staking in the future.

Interested in getting a head start? You can familiarize yourself with the process on testnet — documentation is available on our docs pages, and the GitHub repo.

More details on the Node Ecosystem will drop soon — stay tuned.

Africa Tokenization Council

One of March’s standout moments was the announcement of the Africa Tokenization Council, a new initiative aimed of driving AI and blockchain adoption across Africa and the Middle East.

COTI’s core team members Shahaf Bar Geffen, CEO, and Joshua Maddox, Chief Ecosystems and Partnerships Officer, are among the Council’s founding members alongside regional leaders Dr. Mansour Almalik and Alaa Bishara. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and connections to the highest levels of government.

The initiative will bring together African officials with global leaders in blockchain and tokenization, with the aim of boosting investment in innovation across the MENA region. COTI will serve as one of the core infrastructure providers for these efforts, supporting secure, scalable deployments across the focus regions.

The Council’s first event will take place at Token2049 in Dubai at late April.

New Partnerships Bring New Use Cases To COTI

March also saw several new partnerships joining the ecosystem, demonstrating the versatility of COTI’s Privacy-on-Demand solution.

  • Crafter enables anyone to launch off-the-peg smart contracts for common use cases, without needing to know how to code in Solidity. One of the first recipients of a grant from the COTI Builders Program, Crafter provides a user-friendly interface that offers pre-built modules for NFT collections, encrypted vaults, and more.
  • UCTalent Labs is a recruitment network that uses the blockchain to connect talent with hiring companies. COTI’s privacy technology is vital here for ensuring confidential applications and salary negotiations.
  • Crypto Inheritance Protocol (CIP) provides a means for crypto users to pass their wealth on securely to the next generation, avoiding the issue of lost keys that has cost holders and their loved ones billions of dollars to date. COTI’s garbled circuits provide iron-clad privacy and legal compliance.

COTI In The Spotlight

It’s been a bumper month for publicity: as Mainnet went live, the Web3 world took notice! Blockworks drew attention to COTI’s ability to perform private, multi-party computation via Garbled Circuits, while Ivan on Tech highlighted our Privacy-on-Demand capabilities, enabling privacy across 71 blockchains. Additional coverage came from HackerNoon, The Block, Crypto.News, Blockster, CoinTrust and many others.

CoinMarketCap, U.Today, Finbold all supported the announcement of the Africa Tokenization Council and COTI’s leading role in it.

Meanwhile, COTI’s Node Ecosystem announcement was featured in Blockster, CoinCodex, and U.Today, all of which emphasized the high degree of flexibility that the network will offer.

Finally, COTI CEO Shahaf Bar Geffen also appeared in Benzinga, sharing insights on the powerful intersection of AI and Web3, including the rise of AI agent builders within the space.

Speaking Opportunities

March was also a big month for COTI on the event circuit.

Shahaf Bar-Geffen joined the Crypto Town Hall show on March 25 (55 minutes in) to discuss the Mainnet launch.

He also spoke at the Building Blocks Conference, joining the “Building in the Trenches” panel to share his perspective on the startup grind.

Meanwhile, Joshua Maddox, COTI’s CEPO, traveled to Vietnam to attend a CodeX-hosted hackathon, serving as both a speaker and judge. Winners of the hackathon were then invited to join COTI’s Vibe Coding event in Bangkok in April.

What’s Coming Next

Mainnet has launched, the foundation is now set and the real momentum can begin!

In the coming days and weeks, more ecosystem partners will go live on Mainnet. We’ll also roll out Treasury Upgrades, ramp up preparations for the Node Ecosystem, and give builders the tools they need to create powerful, feature-rich, private Web3 applications.

We’ll also be attending some major crypto conferences, including:

Expect announcements, technical updates, and even more ecosystem activity as we build toward a fully realized, decentralized future.

Once again, thank you for joining us on this amazing journey.

Stay COTI!
