COTI started 2025 with a bang and we mean to keep up the momentum! This month, we joined the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, announced the launch of PriveX, made great technical strides towards Mainnet, and started to carve out a niche in the fast-moving world of AI.

COTI Joins EEA
This month we also announced our membership of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance: a consortium of dozens of industry-leading organizations, founded to bring together businesses, developers, and the Web3 community to tackle important issues.
COTI joins the Ethereum Foundation alongside heavy hitters such as Microsoft, EY, JPMorgan Chase, Accenture, ConsenSys, Chainlink, Circle, and many others. This presents a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas with top thought leaders within the Ethereum ecosystem, learn about the needs of businesses and developers, and contribute by enhancing the privacy of Web3 applications and infrastructure. PriveX Spells New Era Of DeFAI
Earlier this week, we announced the launch of PriveX, the first Perpetual DEX (Perp-DEX) to be released on the COTI network! PriveX will change the way that users trade by tapping into external liquidity sources, and integrating AI trading agents.
A Perpetual DEX allows users to trade perpetual futures contracts (contracts with no expiry date) with leverage, in a decentralized manner. PriveX features an intent-based system that can access the deep liquidity pools hosted by centralized exchanges, starting with Binance. This offers a high degree of both autonomy and efficiency, simplifying the trading process and ensuring users get the best prices. Read the full story here.

Plume
This month we also announced another major partnership with Plume: a public blockchain for real world assets (RWAs). RWAs represent a $30 trillion market that is gradually coming on-chain, driving TradFi value into Web3. Privacy is a key unlock for RWAs and COTI is working with Plume to enable confidential and scalable RWA operations. Find out more here.
Bancor
We also revealed more about our existing partnership with major DeFi platform Bancor where we aim to integrate Privacy-on-Demand to its Carbon DeFi product. This partnership will see traders to use Bancor’s platform to set up custom trading strategies and arbitrage between different decentralized exchanges, while avoiding front-running and MEV attacks. We made a commitment this year to lean into AI, which is potentially the biggest technological theme of our age. COTI is well positioned for growth at the intersection of Web3 and AI — privacy being a necessary component of effective DeFAI (DeFi + AI). COTI is already partnered with a number of major companies implementing AI, including NFA, AnChain.AI, Hacken, Civic, and COTI Agents. The Road to Mainnet — Enhanced Testnet Goes Live and more.
It’s been a huge month for technical updates, as we gear up for Mainnet launch at the end of March.
This month we launched the Enhanced COTI V2 Testnet. This significant upgrade paves the way for Mainnet by enhancing the security, stability, and decentralization of the network, as well as addressing some outstanding bugs. Find out what’s new here.
We have also been busy preparing for the COTI token upgrade that will take place upon Mainnet launch. VIPER wallet users who hold COTI V1 in the Treasury are now able to link their wallets to a MetaMask address, this will provide a smooth transition to COTI V2 and is a necessary step. If you haven’t done it yet, simply navigate to pay.coti.io, connect with MetaMask and submit your Ethereum address. You can find step-by-step instructions in this video. January 23, January 30 — where COTI’s Head of Product, Daniel Gruesso, talks through what they are working on behind the scenes, including the upcoming MetaMask Snaps integration — Exciting times!
We also held a session for developers, walking participants through the process of creating privacy-preserving smart contracts from scratch on the COTI network. If you missed this event, don’t worry: you can catch up by watching it here.
COTI In The Spotlight
January was a strong month for COTI in the media, with a range of coverage. Our CEO, Shahaf Bar-Geffen, featured in an article in The Street about how AI agents are reshaping Web3. He also featured in an article on Bitcoin.com explaining why this is just the beginning for AI agents.
In other news, COTI’s membership of the EEA featured in The News Crypto, Blockchain Reporter, CoinTrust. The launch of PriveX received coverage in, mPost, Business Insider, Crypto Daily, among others and finally our partnership with Plume attracted coverage on Blockchain Reporter.
In addition COTI had a number of speaking opportunities this month. Shahaf featured on the WaveCT podcast, introducing COTI and discussing the challenges of launching an L2. Listen back on Apple or watch the podcast on YouTube. He also made an appearance on Forbes Web3 Spaces speaking about Nodes and the future of Web3. Last but not least, our 6th COTI Connect Space took place on January 16, hosted by Tracer and with special guests from COTI Agents and Band Protocol.
