Band Protocol Goes Live On COTI Mainnet: Powering Private, Real-Time Oracle Feeds

Band Protocol is an oracle provider that connects decentralized applications with real-time data feeds. It plays a vital role by serving accurate and trustworthy external data to the COTI network, enabling dApps and services to function seamlessly.

Private by Design: Securing Oracles for Institutional-Grade Web3

Oracles are a critical piece of infrastructure for the DeFi and Web3 space — that can be significantly enhanced with privacy. Band Protocol uses COTI’s privacy layer to encrypt its Standard Dataset, preventing attackers from tampering with the valuable information provided to dApps. This allows for secure, private, and compliant data processing — a prerequisite for institutional adoption of Web3 platforms.

With the Band Protocol integration, developers on COTI can securely incorporate Band Price Feeds into their privacy-focused dApps. With just a few clicks, developers can access price tickers for major tokens on the COTI Mainnet, including $COTI, $BTC, and $ETH. Additionally, projects can customize these feeds to meet their specific needs by adjusting parameters such as update frequency and deviation thresholds. This flexibility allows dApp developers to balance accuracy with cost, optimizing their use of the protocol.

Beyond Oracles: Band’s Role in Web3 Evolution

Band Protocol isn’t simply an oracle service. It’s a key building block for Web3 that unites blockchain ecosystems and allows information to move freely around the decentralized web — in synergy with COTI’s mission of establishing Web3 privacy as the standard across all major chains.

Band Protocol enables the flow of data cross-chain between popular EVM and non-EVM networks, powering a wide range of dApps, prediction markets, Web3 games, and other applications that need to access external data. Today’s integration draws on COTI’s privacy-on-demand provision to ensure the security and integrity of real-world data feeds cross-chain, that so many decentralized applications rely on.

The protocol will be supporting the backtesting tool for Carbon DeFi, an advanced order-book-style DEX, deployed by Bancor — another of our early Mainnet partners. Carbon DeFi empowers users with innovative tools to execute personalized trading strategies, automation, and dynamic trades.

To ensure accurate historical data within the Carbon DeFi Simulator, external APIs are used to fetch past token prices. On the COTI chain, Band will serve as a reliable source of historical pricing information, supporting informed strategy development before live deployment.

Looking Ahead: Band Oracle V3 is Coming!

Band has deployed its Band Oracle V3 on COTI Testnet with the Mainnet upgrade expected by the end of Q2. V3 will deliver an even faster and more cost-efficient oracle service, adding further value to the COTI ecosystem and wider Web3 space.
